Epigraphy Interns

MIDF (Manuscripts & Inscriptions Digitisation Foundation) is looking for interns to join Pratnakirti, our epigraphy research and digitisation centre, based in Dharwad, Karnataka.

What you'll do

Support our digitisation efforts by studying epigraphical publications, extracting accurate, research-ready historical data, and helping build our online repository for India's documentary heritage.

Online, or on-site at Dharwad, Karnataka.

What we're looking for

Interest and experience with Indian history and heritage is our core requirement. You are an ideal fit if your expertise aligns with any of the following three tracks:

1. 1.Knowledge of Sanskrit and its respective scripts
2. 2.Knowledge of Farsi and the Nastaliq script
3. 3.Strong expertise in epigraphy, history, or related fields

Additional requirements

• Familiarity with standard digital tools (Google Workspace: Sheets, Docs, etc.)
• Comfortable integrating AI tools into research workflows
• A sharp eye for detail and a genuine passion for preserving India's inscriptional heritage
